What about Carl ?!?

Spread the love

You ever watch that show about the Walking Dead called “Where’s Carl?”

My favorite television show (my obsession actually) is The Walking Dead. I have been there since ‘Days Go By’ and have never missed an episode. As a matter of a fact, I now host a group chat during every episode! We #TWDFamily already scream, cuss, laugh out loud and cry during each episode, might as well have someone to scream with right? Not to mention we all have personal theories as to why a certain character did/said this, or why this or that occurrence took place.

*Shameless plug here* I also have a facebook group for The Walking Dead fans. Click here to check us out, and ask to join.

Now let’s rip this huge band-aid off.  CARL!!!!!

We have watched this little boy grow into the too mature young.
We have been there both times he was shot, breath held,
eyes bulging, waiting to see where the writers would go with the show’s version of
the story.

We have seen him transform from the rebellious teen that was angry at his father for everything, to Judith’s favorite babysitter, and now (still rebellious) a valuable member of the team. How many times have we yelled ‘Get back in the house Carl!’? Or ‘Where’s Carl?’? Carl is no different than any other member of Rick’s team, however. Think about it, which one has never done their own thing, even when Rick said something else? It just cuts a little deeper when Carl does it because A) He is still a teen after all and many actions are unknown to him and B) He is Rick’s son and we want to see him follow in his father’s footsteps.

Moving on I can see good reasoning on each side as far a Saddiq is concerned.

The team has gone through a great deal when adding new members to their team. Also, they have so much on their plates right now battling Negan and The Saviors, and having to fork over sometimes even more than half of all of their supplies. Now to add another mouth to feed? Now to take out the precious time they can not afford to investigate and figure out whether or not the boy is a good guy or a bad guy.

On Carl’s side of the coin, however, there is only Enid around his age. And Carl has a big heart. He may even be thinking back to ‘Orange Backpack, Hitchhiker Guy’, or any of the refugees they took in from Woodbury that would then perished from the Swine Flu or from Walkers caused from the Swine Flu and wanting so much to help out another survivor. Or perhaps because of his experience out there on his own when his dad was on his deathbed, after the fall of the prison.

I would also like to point out here that Carl eventually became Alexandria’s savior. He told Negan to even shoot him (something Negan probably wouldn’t do anyway bc he is fond of the boy) and he created smoke and fire to cause a distraction as he got his beloved ones to safety.

Also am I the only one that thought part of the Church’s fire formed an angel as Carl looked up at it? And look at how biblical this scene appears?

Now there are theories floating around that Carl will survive this bite. The two big ones being:
A) Carl was bitten by a Whisperer. I will not go into details of who the Whisperers are for those that have not read the comics. I will say, in the comics, Carl has a role with this crew.
It is being said that the Walker that was already lying on the ground where Carl fell while in a struggle with another Walker was the one that actually bit Carl. That much probably is true, especially the looks on Carl’s and Saddiq’s faces after this happened. Whether it was a true Walker or a Whisperer…..we shall see.

B) Carl is immune. And two branches have sprouted from this theory. Either he was born with an immunity and will be the beginning of the end of the Z.A. OR when he was shot the last time, he had a blood transfusion right there in Alexandria. Alexandria was set up as a test. Perhaps the new blood had an immunity. :/

Far fetch? Perhaps. But we are talking about a story…. a story that did just lay to rest a tamed tiger. (R.I.P. SHIVA!!!)

I for one am not holding my breath and certainly do not have a petition in waiting and will not past around spoons (wtf Bethers). I will be heartbroken indeed by this death.

But TWD will remain my favorite show. And I would watch regardless just to see where they will go with Negan, and if the Whispers will make a debut.
