Ash Vs Evil Dead…is Dead After This Season

Spread the love

Ash Vs. Evil Dead is the show that gave us the Bruce Campbell’s chainsaw-wielding Deadite fighting character on a weekly basis won’t continue past its current season.

Variety is reporting that the Starz network canceled what many consider one of the best horror TV shows ever in Ash Vs. Evil Dead.  The show is based on the Sam Raimi horror film from the 1980’s Evil Dead.  In it, Bruce Campbell’s “Groovy” character Ash, who is the hero of the show and movies, has confronted the forces of evil and darkness for three seasons now.  The current one season has its finale on April 29.

Ash is accompanied by a motley crew of sidekicks. No not the band but still a motley crew.   Other stars of the show are stars Dana DeLorenzo, Ray Santiago and Lucy Lawless

It looks like the ratings just haven’t been strong enough for the latest round of episodes.  They’ve averaged a 0.08 rating in adults 18-49 and 177,000 viewers each.

I can’t tell you how much this sucks! This is my favorite show. I just hope they are able to get it on to another network soon.  It’d be a shame to lose this show.  It would seem like a no-brainer for the original EVIL DEAD trio of Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Campbell (all are executive-producers on Ash Vs. Evil Dead), to at least give it a shot.  Hopefully, a network with a larger audience will see just how awesome this show is.

An obvious emotional Bruce Campbell tweeted this out earlier today
